Ollie Webb Center--Omaha, Nebraska
The mission of the Ollie Webb Center is to improve the lives of people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and to provide information, education and support to their families.
Nebraska Advocacy Services
The Protection and Advocacy (P&A) System are congressionally mandated, legally-based disability rights agencies. P&A agencies have the authority to provide legal representation and other advocacy services, under all federal and state laws, to all people with disabilities (based on a system of priorities for services).
Parent Training & Information of Nebraska - PTI
PTI Nebraska is a statewide resource for families of children with disabilities. (Individual Education Plans - Inclusion - Positive Behavioral Interventions - Transitions - Early Development Network and Preschool)
State of Nebraska Developmental Disabilities System
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is charged by State Statute with the responsibility for carrying out the Developmental Disabilities Services Act. Responsibilities include certification, technical assistance, regulations and payment for providers of community-based developmental disabilities services, and operation of the Beatrice State Developmental Center (a 24-hour intermediate care facility for persons with developmental disabilities).
State of Nebraska Planning Council on Developmental Disabilities
Priorities identified in a five-year state plan focus on improving the system of supports for persons with disabilities and their families. Goals concentrate on persons who experience a severe disability that occurs before the age of twenty-two, including persons with physical disabilities, mental/behavioral health conditions and developmental disabilities. Support systems across the lifespan are examined.
